REPORTING ON YOUR ARTS AWARD LEADERSHIP PROJECT
The leadership project went pretty well. Carl seemed reasonably happy at the end and claimed that he learnt some useful information regarding the software and its capabilities with motion graphics. To evidence this I received an email shortly after the session:
I have learnt from this Leadership project that it is always important to plan your session before hand so that there are no delays as this makes people bored or concerned. Though the session did end up going quite smoothly and I was able to teach a lot of useful skills and techniques towards the end, nearer the beginning, everything wasn’t as plain sailing. For example, I started with the files ready on my hard drive to use and edit with to demonstrate some certain skills I had in mind, however, I had to change my plan completely as I was unable to locate the files when it came to the session, making the beginning 5 minutes quite awkward and frustrating. I made a quick decision to ask Carl what kind of thing he would like to learn and that luckily sparked up a new idea to look at text effects similar to those in the classic superman titles.
If I were to do this again I would make sure to further plan the session before hand to present something more professional for others, using the time more wisely to put across as much as I can so that my audience is interested throughout and they learn valuable information at the end.
