PLANNING YOUR ARTS LEADERSHIP PROJECT

My role with the Arts Leadership project will be to teach the key basics in Adobe After Effects. I will then create a visual effect shot of choice from the person I teach and show them how to make it from scratch, hopefully showing some useful techniques and know-how with the software.

By the end of the session they should hopefully have some more knowledge with the software and can be more comfortable with creating something of there own in After Effects. Adobe After Effects isn’t an easy piece of software to use and would take quite a significant amount of time to teach everything so by showing the basics, these will be the most important tools to then play with and get to know to advance onto creating more ambitious projects.

My audience will be a keen lecturer from my college called Carl Hardy. He has been interested in some of the work I’ve done and excited about learning more with Adobe After Effects. this opportunity was perfect for me to show him what I know and teach him the important basic skills in the software and produce a small little project that he should hopefully be excited about.

In order to actually start the Leadership session am going to need to make sure I plan an hour slot where we are both free to sit down and start the project. I will also need to prepare any files in advance that I might need in order to show any certain effects that my lecturer may request. To achieve this I will make sure to bring along a hard drive with a few essential files prior to the session. Lastly I will make sure a computer is free at the organised time of the session which has Adobe After Effects installed. this is important because my college only has a select few computers that have After effects on them.

Update (28/03/2014):

We arranged for the Leadership Project to be at 12:40 on Monday, 31 March.
